Pittsford Puppies Guarantee

M&M Pets LLC, doing business as Pittsford Puppies

1. Date and Buyer Information

2. Puppy Information

3. Breeder's Commitment

M&M Pets LLC, doing business as Pittsford Puppies, is committed to responsible breeding, proper husbandry, genetic health testing, appropriate veterinary care, and the lifelong well-being of every puppy placed. Bringing a puppy into a family is a significant commitment. This guarantee is intended to provide the Buyer with clear expectations regarding congenital and hereditary health conditions. No breeder can guarantee that a puppy will never become ill or injured.

M&M Pets LLC guarantees that, at the time of sale, the puppy is free from serious congenital or hereditary conditions that would prevent the puppy from living a normal companion life. This two (2) year genetic health guarantee begins on the puppy's date of birth and applies only to qualifying hereditary or congenital conditions that materially affect the puppy's health or quality of life.

If the puppy is determined to have a qualifying hereditary or congenital condition that materially affects its health or quality of life, the Buyer will be offered a replacement puppy. If the Buyer does not want a replacement puppy, the Buyer may request a refund of the puppy's purchase price.

4. Veterinary Examination

The Buyer agrees to have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within forty-eight (48) hours of taking possession of the puppy. The Buyer is responsible for providing the veterinarian with the puppy's complete health records and for following the veterinarian's recommendations regarding vaccinations, parasite prevention, nutrition, exercise, weight management, and general care.

Any significant health concern discovered during the examination must be reported to M&M Pets LLC in writing within forty-eight (48) hours after the examination. Failure to obtain the required veterinary examination may void this guarantee.

5. Conditions Covered by This Guarantee

During the two-year guarantee period, M&M Pets LLC will consider claims involving a documented hereditary or congenital condition that meets all of the following criteria:

  • Hereditary or congenital origin: The condition was present from birth or is reasonably determined by a veterinary specialist to have a genetic or hereditary origin.
  • Not caused by excluded circumstances: The condition did not result from injury, accident, neglect, abuse, improper nutrition, obesity, environmental factors, or inadequate veterinary care.
  • Material effect on health or quality of life: The condition substantially affects the puppy's health or quality of life.
  • Serious functional or treatment impact: The condition may require ongoing veterinary treatment, medication, or surgery; significantly impair the puppy's ability to perform normal activities expected for its age and breed, such as walking, playing, or interacting socially; or be uncorrectable through standard veterinary care.

Documentation: A diagnosis must be supported by appropriate veterinary records and, when reasonably necessary, an examination or written opinion from a board-certified veterinary specialist.

This guarantee is intended to support the puppy's well-being and help ensure that serious genetic or hereditary conditions are appropriately addressed.

6. Conditions Not Covered

This guarantee does not cover conditions or expenses resulting from:

  • Accidents, injuries, trauma, or poisoning.
  • Neglect, abuse, or inadequate care.
  • Improper nutrition or obesity.
  • Failure to provide recommended veterinary care.
  • Failure to maintain appropriate vaccinations or parasite prevention.
  • Infectious diseases acquired after the puppy leaves the breeder.
  • Elective procedures or cosmetic conditions.
  • Routine veterinary expenses.
  • Vaccinations, deworming, flea and tick prevention, or other preventive care.
  • Spaying or neutering.
  • Dental care or routine dental disease.
  • Parasites.
  • Allergies or environmental sensitivities.
  • Conditions caused by the Buyer's breeding, reproduction, or management decisions.
  • Conditions resulting from breeding before appropriate health testing or maturity.
  • Conditions that develop as a normal consequence of aging.

The Buyer is responsible for taking all reasonable steps to maintain the puppy's health and well-being.
