Frequently asked questions

From reserving your puppy to what comes in the starter kit, here are the answers our families ask most.

Browse our breed pages, choose the puppy that feels right, and complete checkout to place a deposit. We will reach out within 24 hours to confirm details and schedule pickup.

Yes. Every puppy passes a full veterinary exam, receives age-appropriate vaccinations and deworming, and is microchipped before going home.

We stand behind our breeding program with a written 2-year health guarantee against genetic health conditions, plus lifetime breeder support for the life of your dog.

Absolutely. Families are welcome by appointment at 7351 Tamarack Road, Pittsford, MI. Use our contact page to schedule a visit and meet the puppies in person.

Each puppy goes home with a starter kit including food, a familiar blanket, a favorite toy, AKC registration paperwork, and health records from our vet.

Dachshunds come in three coat types: smooth, long-haired, and wire-haired. Smooth coats are short and sleek, long-haired coats are silky with feathering, and wire-haired coats have a rougher, textured appearance.

We prefer in-person pickup so you can meet your puppy and our family. In special circumstances we can arrange safe, vetted transport — just ask and we will discuss the options. Pittsford Puppies offers flight nanny service and ground transport for a fee.

Yes, Pittsford Puppies highly recommends crate training for your puppy. We suggest the small crate measuring 24L x 18W x 19T would be an ideal size to start with for any of our breeds.

We are always here for our families. If circumstances change, contact us first — we will help you find the best path forward and, when needed, take a puppy back into our care.
